Koorg & Gaar (Part II of the Io Jaxx trilogy)

Koorg was his name and his claim to fame
Was that he killed any one who would try to tame
him. He was vile and grotesque had a hunchback frame
He was a monster.

Yes, it's rhymed and metric, that because this story (and the others in the Io Cycle) started life as a song. Probably easiest to just let you listen to it. At the time the Gassmen recorded this song long fade-outs were in vogue and we were nothing if not au courant. Once the lyric starts repeating, it just fades. If you prefer reading to listening, the rest of the lyrics are below, just underneath the audio player.
Gaar was his pawn and his right-hand man
Who loved to torture and butcher whenever he can
He had an ulcerous, puss-hide, slime-covered hand
He was unsightly.

Could it be here’s Io Jaxx?
Trusty sword and fearsome axe
Fights for good, drives evil back
He’s our hero.

Koorg lays his plan and he calls for Gaar
Who comes to meet him on planet Vex-24
They start to pillage and plunder and rape the poor
helpless planet

Poison the water and scorch the land
They’re causing death and destruction exactly as planned
Their power’s growing and Io will need a hand
He calls for Dexter

Could it be here’s Dexter Eul
Whiz with gizmos, master of tools
Builds the means to finish the cruel
Knights of darkness

(break)

Koorg tells the world what he has in store
He aims to smother the planet Vex 24
A gas of acid to melt down rocks into ore
He will release it.

Everything breathing will live no more
There will be nothing remaining except the ore
Which Gaar will gather if he can just ignore
The stinking carnage
Dexter makes a gas of his own
Two parts flux and triphospherone
Saves the planet, rescues the stone
From a melt-down

Koorg has a plan to escape the scene
He uses Gaar in a way that is cruel and mean
He makes him dive in a river of blue phosgene
then he ignites it.

Io and Dexter smell the fire
Now Gaar is screaming in pain, as the flames grow higher
When they arrive what they see is a blazing pyre
They cannot help him

Io sees Koorg trying to flee
Swears that he will not let it be
Overtakes him easily
Koorg is captured

(break)

Sentence is read and there’s no appeal
He will be sealed in a pod of flextron steel
He will be hated by all and none will feel
an ounce of pity
